Inspired by the architecture of a riad, the design of the Sofitel Essaouira Médina & SPA hotel revolves around an enormous outdoor heated swimming pool and offers guests 117 rooms and suites. Its façades in the typical architectural style of Morocco are a reminder of the colour purple originally used in Mogador.
Its rooms have been entirely furnished by Souiri craftsmen, using Thuya burr and wood from the lemon tree. Set against warm shades of raw Sienna and ochre, the result is a delightfully harmonious blend. They either overlook the ocean, the swimming pool or the old town.

In addition to international dishes, the hotel's restaurant "L'Arganier" offers "low-calorie" meals inspired by the local cuisine. All this can be sampled in a delightful setting of mosaics, terracotta floor tiles and lighting from large lamps made of wrought iron. One enchanting detail is the murmur of water splashing gently from a multicolour fountain in the middle of the restaurant.
With its large picture windows and terrace, the "Restaurant de la plage" offers a splendid view of the sea. Grilled dishes and fresh seafood are on offer in this congenial setting.
